- Select your class on the left.
- When you are in Programme of Inquiry, you will see the generic PYP descriptors at the top, and below you will see our units.
Specialist classes (Art, Music, Foreign Language, and Physical Education) are listed separately from HomeGroup classes. For PE, Art, and Music, there is only one class with all grade level students in it. There is one "HomeGroup" class called Grade X Support for each Grade level. There are no students in this class. This is so that support teachers (EAL, Learning Support, Technology, and Library) can review and contribute to Programme of Inquiry units.
To add a unit to a class, go to the class by clicking on the grade level to expand it, and then the class. You will see the current unit. You can click on the drop down arrow next to View... to see other units for that grade, including specialist units. Only subjects that have units created will be listed. You can add a new unit by clicking on +Add Unit.
When making a new unit, you will first give it a title and select the subjects that will participate in the unit. For stand alone units, only teachers of subjects that have been selected will be able to see the unit and add themselves as authors.
Once you click Save, you will come to a new screen in which stand alone subjects must select 'Stand-alone unit.' They will not be able to select a transdisciplinary theme.
You can share the unit with multiple grade levels, and only grade levels that have been selected will be able to add themselves as authors. You may also save as draft to hide the unit from students/parents and other teachers.
In Scope and Sequence, you can select multiple Expectations and Learning Outcomes. You first select subject and Strand. You must click Save Changes before selecting outcomes from a different strand or subject. If you see any errors in the strands and outcomes please email me.
Continue through the unit planning tabs. Under Summative Assessment, you can describe assessment methods and tasks. If you use the +Add Task button, the task will be visible to students and parents in the calendar.
Draft units are only visible to the author, on the left of the screen.
To add yourself as an author of a Programme of Inquiry unit, click on the unit title, and click add author.
Only the teachers of the subject you are currently in will be visible.
To edit a unit plan you must first select the unit, and then click Edit Unit Plan at the top right.
